Nicla D. had built a genuine point of view in interior design, one rooted in bold colour, biophilic principles, and the belief that a well-designed space is better for your health. Nicla wanted to be the leading voice in Biophilic Design but she needed her brand to reflect that.

01 — The Challenge
Nicla came to us mid-rebrand with a clear vision and no way to get it out of her head and onto something she was proud to put in front of people.
She had the instinct, the colour, and the conviction. What she was missing was a brand that matched the standard of work she was already doing and could open the doors she was ready to walk through.
The rename
02 — Strategy
Through our Double Dip Workshop we found the thing that made Nicla genuinely different. She isn't just an interior designer. She sits at a very specific intersection: bold colour, biophilic design, and the belief that the way a space looks directly affects how you feel in it. That combination was her real edge and it was our job to make sure her brand was saying it.
We renamed the business, stripping it back from "Nicla D. Interiors" to simply Nicla to exude luxury and a timeless feel.
01
Positioning & Name
We stripped the business back from "Nicla D. Interiors" to simply Nicla. Bold enough to match the work and revealed her clear advantage over competitors.
02
Voice & Messaging
Confident, warm, and unapologetically bold. Personal and empathetic for residential clients; direct and outcome-focused for corporate held together with one consistent voice.
03
Brand Guidelines
Nicla knew her colours but had no structure. We built guidelines that worked across every communication and were easy to hand over to her website designer.
04
The Tagline
"Bold, biophilic design for healthier living." What she does and why it matters in one line.
03 — Identity
A logo grown from a ginkgo leaf.
The logo started with the ginkgo leaf, chosen deliberately. The ginkgo is one of the oldest living species on the planet, a symbol of resilience, elegance, and the enduring power of nature.
The colour palette was built with the same intention. Fuchsia as the signature, daring and unmistakably Nicla.
Dark teal as the anchor, grounding and trust building. Gold for the luxury and premium quality of the service. White for the sleekness that lets everything else breathe.
Signature Fuchsia
Anchor Teal
Luxury Gold
Sleek White

Through a process of abstraction, two initial leaf studies were refined down to their most essential lines, the curves, the flow, the natural divisions, until what remained was a singular abstract emblem that carried all of that meaning without being literal about it. Nature as the foundation, premium and modern in its execution.
Brand elements
The fluid ring shapes and ginkgo leaf patterns extend the brand into a full visual system that works across every context. The rings frame and accent without overpowering. The leaf patterns bring energy and texture in fuchsia, dark teal, and gradient gold, so the brand feels alive wherever it shows up.

photography and creative direction
The imagery was built around two looks. Rich, moody spaces with deep greens and teal that feel immersive and dramatic. And brighter, airier shots with white walls where the bold colours and plants do all the talking. Both feel luxurious. Both feel unmistakably Nicla.
